TRANSPORTATION:
If you are on medicaid and live in one of the five metro counties
or Boulder, call 1-800-284-5150. Generally medicaid will pay any
necessary fees or expected "donations".
In the area
of transportation, if you live in Arapahoe,Douglas or Denver, call
303-738-8090. The transportation people strongly encourage donations
and they have some guidelines and restrictions they have to follow.
But in general with two days notice they will take you to doctor
appointments (medical, dental, psychological or psychiatrist etc.)
pharmacy, groceries and occasionally a special occasion. This service
is available 7 days a week generally.
If you live
in Adams or Jefferson Counties, you need to call the Senior Resource
Center transportation at 303-235-6972. Seniors on medicaid do not
have to pay anything, but other seniors will have to pay $6 or $11
Depending on the distance. They will take you to the doctor (medical,
dentist , psychologist or psychiatrist as above) pharmacy and grocery
shopping. They need 3 business days notice and you need to call
between the hours of 9a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
